Catching Fire: The Story of Anita Pallenberg (15)

  • Gloucester Guildhall 23 Eastgate Street Gloucester United Kingdom (map)

Dir: Alexis Bloom and Svetlana Zill | USA | 2024 | 115 mins

Documentary (narrated by Scarlett Johansson)

A portrait of the dazzling and irrepressible woman who helped create the DNA of rock ‘n’ roll.

Anita Pallenberg was a “rock n’ roll goddess,” a “voodoo priestess,” and an “evil seductress,” accused of (amongst other things) trying to break up the Rolling Stones.

Now, using the words of her unpublished memoir, alongside never-seen-before home movies and family photographs, Catching Fire depicts Pallenberg’s life with the Rolling Stones, telling a bittersweet tale of triumph, heartbreak and addiction and showing how – from Barbarella to the Swiss Alps, from the Lower East Side to London – this radiant and compelling woman was a creative force ahead of her time.
