Morgan Neville (director of the Oscar winning doc 20 Feet From Stardom) chronicles the life of musician Pharrell Williams through LEGO animation (yes, that’s right!) in this unforgettable journey of unbridled joy and creative freedom.
Through this LEGO-rendered first-hand account, we move piece by piece through Pharrell’s life and storied career – from his childhood in Virginia to his teenage garage band years to international stardom on the world’s biggest stages – taking in his work in N.E.R.D., his time as part of producing duo The Neptunes (beautifully showcased in a head-spinning sequence of hits) and his solo endeavours and collaborations with Kendrick Lamar and Daft Punk.
Featuring interviews with a star-studded LEGO-rendered cast including Jay-Z, Missy Elliott, Gwen Stefani, Kendrick Lamar and Snoop Dogg, this is an exuberant and inventive celebration of creativity.
