Gloucestershire Symphony Orchestra’s next concert at the Guildhall Gloucester takes you on a musical voyage of romantic music with a magical eastern European flavour. Beginning with the rarely performed original version of Night on a Bare Mountain by Mussorgsky portraying a night of supernatural revelry, followed by Dvorak’s The Water Goblin a captivating piece that draws inspiration from Czech folklore. Concluding our journey is Rachmaninov’s well-known Symphony No 2 a lush and emotive narrative with gorgeous melodies transporting you to the rich landscapes of Russia and Eastern Europe.
