France, 1885: Celebrated gourmet Dodin (Magimel) lives on a Loire Valley estate with Eugénie (Binoche), his cook and collaborator of 20 years. Dodin devises the dishes, while Eugénie executes them to perfection. When she finally allows him to cook for her, their relationship takes an unexpected turn.

Tender and romantic, with an intimacy beautifully essayed by Binoche and Magimel, The Taste of Things is also a visual feast, with lavish scenes of food preparation that are intoxicating, sensual and in their care and detail, unexpectedly moving.
