Directors: Daniel Lucchesi and Alex Ramseyer-Bache
We Are Poets is a documentary film directed by Daniel Lucchesi and Alex Ramseyer-Bache. It follows six young poets from Leeds Young Authors performance group in Leeds on their visit to the International Poetry Slam Competition in Washington DC. It premiered at Europe's largest documentary film festival Doc/Fest in Sheffield in 2011 where it won the coveted Sheffield Youth Jury Award.
Two years ago Grhyme (Gloucester Rhyme) Festival had the privilege of not only screening the film but to also have in attendance one of the featured Poets (Rheima Robinson). The film itself was produced 16 years ago whilst Rheima and some of the other Poets taking part were only 16 years old.
