Based on a juicy true story, Wicked Little Letters sees a chintzy 1920s seaside town rocked by a series of elaborately profane poison pen letters. Staunchly conservative local Edith (Colman) is their initial target. The prime suspect? Her nemesis, rowdy Irish migrant Rose (Buckley). The letters prompt a national uproar, and a trial ensues. But as the town’s women launch an investigation – together with police officer Gladys Moss (Anjana Vasan) – they begin to realise it’s possible Rose may not be the culprit after all.
