Documentary
Most films about sport are all about winning. This one is all about staying power.
Younger tells the story of a group of older female athletes. Every five years, they move into a new competition age group and find themselves the youngest again.
Dorothy, 85, loves the camaraderie of her gang. Joylyn, 69, hopes to keep going into her 90s. Sue, 69, says pole vaulting has helped her cope with cancer twice. Noel, 74, loves the technical challenge of race walking. For all these women, training and competing in masters athletics is about being part of a supportive community, achieving personal goals and living a purposeful life full of adventure and fun.
A quiet, powerful portrait of resilience and sheer grit, Younger gives viewers of any age a joyful, fulfilling and entirely new picture of what ageing looks like.
